Genealogy

DAR members are women who come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. Their common bond is their lineal descent from patriots of the American Revolution – any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage is eligible to join. Your genealogy is the story of you. Are you interested in discovering your family story, or becoming a member of DAR?

Family Search

This free website is a great resource to search records, find resources, and access services of the largest genealogy organization in the world.

Genealogical Research System (GRS)

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution provides this free system to help you with your genealogical research. The GRS is a collection of databases that provide access to the many materials amassed by DAR since its founding in 1890. DAR members across the country are passionate ambassadors for genealogical preservation and research, and the National Society is committed to being a premier provider of genealogical resources. The online databases are the culmination of 10 years of work by members volunteering to scan and index vast genealogical resources consisting of Bible records, marriage records, wills, deeds, obituaries or a variety of other records.

The USGenWeb Project

This volunteer-run and free system of websites was originally founded with the goal to serve as a single entry point for genealogical resources within a set geographical area.
